Fashion lights! 2012
Fashion lights! – How does fashion get into the fabric?
How do trends arise? Who are the trendsetters? The exhibition “Fashion-lights!” takes a look behind the scenes of the textile industry and asks about the path of the designers’ ideas, inspiration and work. It shows the influences of social changes and the zeitgeist on fashion and how creations become “mainstream” clothing.
A wide range of industries are involved in the implementation of fashion trends: spinning, dyeing, weaving, printing, clothing factories. They all work on the “obligation of the temporary”, the colors, patterns, materials and cuts. The show provides answers to how couture and subcultures become trends and how “fashion in fabric” ultimately prevails.
