According to the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG), the private fashion school is equivalent to a corresponding public institution. Applicants receive financial support if they meet certain requirements. As a rule, this “Student BAföG” does not have to be refunded. Applications can be obtained from the responsible district office, the mayor’s office of the city district or the educational support office of the place of residence.

From the 2nd school year onwards, there is the option of an education loan in addition to BAföG. Information about this can also be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research or at KfW.
